About KMM Ferries Ltd

KMM Ferries Ltd is a UK based ferry operator but has an expansive global network / affiliations.

KMM Ferries is a UK-based ferry operator that will operate owned vessels under the British Flag. KMM Ferries is focused on modern freight services that support trade, reduce congestion, and improve connectivity between the UK and continental Europe

Our Founder - Keith Denholm

Keith Denholm went to sea as a young man aboard Denholm Group vessels, beginning a career that started on deck and led through the boardrooms of world shipping.

Trained across J. & J. Denholm and Denholm Ship Management in Glasgow - the house his family founded in 1866 - he moved to the United States in 1988, working in tanker broking, ship management and cargo operations, before serving as Commercial Director of Pacific Carriers (Kuok Group) and Malaysian Bulk Carriers in Singapore, establishing and leading global freight trading at Castleton Commodities International, serving as Commercial Director of NASDAQ-listed Eagle Bulk Shipping in New York, and returning to Singapore as Commercial Director of IMC Shipping.

He was Chairman of the Baltic Exchange Freight Derivatives Users Group from 2007-2008, has served on the boards of the American P&I Club and the committees of the Norwegian Hull Club and Intercargo, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and is a director of SurplusMap, the Norwegian-government-backed AI company.

With KMM Ferries, the career comes full circle: the seafarer from the Denholm fleet is building a new British-flagged fleet — and through the cadet programme at the City of Glasgow College, opening the same door to sea for the next generation.
